Welcome to Tokyo! I have been looking forward to meeting all of you.
My name is Kubo Satoshi of the Japan Para-Badminton Federation, and I am serving an Ambassador for this year’s games.
There is just one year left until the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.
In recent years, the para badminton world has seen the player population grow on an annual basis, with a more active scene both in Japan and internationally.
I hope that more people learn about both badminton events, in part for the sake of a better and more lively Olympic and Paralympic Games.
I also hope that you will spend fulfilling days here, learning more about each other’s cultures and building deeper relationships with more people through badminton.
Although the tournament may be short, I do hope you enjoy these days!
