Welcome to Tokyo, everyone! I am Chihiro Numakura, a Deaf badminton player, and I am honored to participate as the ambassador for the Asia Junior Sports Exchange Games 2024.
I have been looking forward to meeting all the athletes. The opportunity to compete against athletes from other countries is rare. Please broaden your range of play by experiencing the different types of shots, court placements, and strategies used by various players, through this tournament.
Understand each other’s cultures, deepen your exchanges, and use these experiences as nourishment for your future through badminton.
The Deaflympics will be held in Tokyo in 2025.
On the occasion of this special tournament marking the 100th anniversary of the Deaflympics, I will also strive with all my effort towards creating a Tokyo where people with and without disabilities live together.
Lastly, give your best effort and strive to leave no room for regrets.
